Kalamkas Sea

In the early 21st century with new geophysical methods of searching an extension Kalamkas offshore field called "Kalamkas North" was opened. The productive deposition is at a depth of 0.5-1.4 km. Hydrocarbon and gases deposits were formed with Cretaceous, Jurassic and Upper Triassic sediments.

Geological reserves of the oil of field "Kalamkas North" are 500 million tons, the total geological oil reserves are 1000 million tons. The design oil production should be from 3 to 15 million tons per year.

The operator of the field "Kalamkas North" is a Kazakh oil company KazMunayGas
